Route 6 Cafe
Phil's Take:
Local vibes restaurant just a couple miles from Beaver Creek, this fantastic food spot offers a large menu with a variety of food and drink combined with outstanding customer service. We had the wings, tuna wontons and shared a bacon cheeseburger and all were simply amazing. The owner of Route 6, Ollie Holdstock took the time on a busy Saturday evening to engage us in conversation, a first class guy who clearly takes pride in his establishment. Ollie's prices are very reasonable, quite the opposite of most places in the local area. Highly Recommend!

Beaver Lake Lodge

What a super fun little spot in Marble to rest and relax in. Our cabin was fully furnished and had plenty of room for activities, also within walking distance of the lake and the BBQ restaurant. Be aware the Wifi only works in the office area, otherwise you are going to be without cell phone service (not exactly a bad thing). Overall a really great choice if you aren't super picky and pricing was fantastic.

One could describe the historic Beaver Lake Lodge and Cabins as being at the far side of the town of Marble, Colorado . However, in a town the size of Marble (pop.85,) it is more precise to say that the historic Beaver Lake Lodge IS the far side of the town of Marble.
Our 5 cabins were home to quarry workers a century ago. The cabins have been handsomely renovated. Each cabin is unique, but all have porches, hardwood floors, log beds, baths, kitchens and charcoal grills. Cabin rates are $145 - $185 per night, and are now open year round. Around the cabins and among the spruce and aspen trees are campfire rings, picnic tables, barbecues, and a hefty marmot that lives under the wood pile and pops up to check on our guests.
The lodge was once East Marble's school house, built in the late 1800s. Over the years it has been added onto and transformed into the town's meeting hall, a bait and tackle shop, a restaurant, and since the mid 1950's, a lodge. The rooms in the lodge are newly renovated in a modern farmhouse style. Each room has either a kitchenette or full kitchen, a 3/4 bath (shower, no tub), TV, and is accessible from an outside porch. Lodge room rates are $145 - $160 per night, and are open year round. Our Great Room is available to groups. This is a fabulous place to gather, cook and dine. Those who don't want to cook on vacation have been thrilled with our catering recommendations.

Gateway Resort

We ended up spending the night here on a bike trip because weather rolled in, 40 degrees with snow flurries and we still had several hundred miles to go that day. While expensive this place is absolutely amazing, we had our own condo type room with enclosed back patio, they left a bottle of champagne in the room for us as well. The restaurants on site were top notch, and the activities were great too (we rented bicycles). Overall a fantastic and rather hidden gem if you choose to stay here.

St Elmo Hotel

We stayed here for multiple nights during the summer in Ouray. Right on Main Street and walking distance to everything, the room was pretty small but was very reminiscent of times gone by which gave it a cool vibe. The bar downstairs was top notch and the food was great too. Friendly staff although be aware, breakfast is/was little more than fruit and pastries.

Really cool old school spot above a bar and restaurant in Walden, CO. The hotel will have you stepping back into the late 1800's with the decor, but they do have small AC window units which is a bonus. Grab some dinner and a few drinks and head right upstairs to your room, super convenient.

Hotel Frisco

I was stuck in a huge downpour and pulled over to Hotel Frisco late at night, they were super accommodating and about to find me a room at a great price. The rooms are small but well kept, steps outside are lots of places to eat and socialize. Highly recommend this place for an overnight!

Located inside of the gas station in Naturita, this little cafe serves up some pretty good road food, once they even had Beef Wellington on the menu! This is usually my go to place to grab a quick bite while riding through town, definitely worth checking out!

We have eaten here several times and absolutely loved it. If you are staying in Marble just walk here and crush some of their amazing margaritas! All the food was fantastic, definitely a hidden gem. Super great spot with fantastically local vibes.
