CO 134 is a hidden gem! A fantastic route taken from Tonopas, CO over to (just south on Route 40) Kremmling, CO which runs over Gore Pass. While the pass itself is not much to speak of related to views (just a sign next to the road) the actual ride is a super fun, spirited sequence of all sorts of linked turns. Sweepers, hairpins, decreasing radius and off camber turns put this into the intermediate category although any street equipped bike can handle it. If you are on an Adventure bike there are countless dirt roads to take exploring off of 134, you could spend all day out in this area.
1. CO 134
State Highway 134 (SH 134) is a 27.163 mi (43.715 km) long state highway in northern Colorado. SH 134's western terminus is at SH 131 in Toponas, and the eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 40 (US 40) north of Kremmling.
SH 134 begins in the west at Toponas and proceeds eastward entering Routt National Forest after three miles (5 km). From there the road climbs gradually for roughly thirteen miles to an elevation of 9,527 ft (2,904 m) at Gore Pass. At Gore Pass the route moves into Arapaho National Forest through which it passes for roughly three miles before leaving National Forest Service land. SH 134 continues for approximately eight more miles to its eastern terminus at US 40 six miles (10 km) north of Kremmling.
